Our growing family

Today our family grew by one, when we went to the SPCA and adopted our new puppy, Roxie.

She's shy, but hopefully she will get comfortable with us and have a very happy life :) We sure are happy.

Her legs are taped up at the moment because she was chewing on the sutures from her dew claw removal surgery. She is also recovering from being spayed, and is on antibiotics for kennel cough. She should pep up alot next week once she is done with her medicine and fully recovered.

Instant Crafting.

Well, one night out of nowhere I got in my head that I had to do something crafty. Like RIGHT NOW. My intention was to put up some art in the upstairs bath, which at the time was 100% blank.

I had on hand some fabric swatches I ordered from Tonic Living for a whopping $1.00 a piece, and some old pictures frames I wasn’t using. Bam.

I put the fabric swatches in the frames.

They turned out so stinking cute I wanted them to actually be seen, and since our upstairs bath is rarely used, that killed that idea. But fear not kiddies! I put them in the hall bath downstairs!

Wahoo! They are the perfect size for the tiny room, and add a little pop of design and some interest to the wall. I love it, and it cost me not-a red-cent (since I had already bought the fabric swatches to try and find some fabric for drapes).

Blogging.

You wanna know what my problem with writing my own blog is?

I read too many good blogs. It's intimidating. I'm a bit obsessed. I check my Google reader at least 4 times a day to check for updates. This leaves me both too shy to write about my own dinky projects and stories, as well as far too busy reading to do any writing. In a perfect world my blog would be a beautiful mesh of styles like Young House Love, MODG and Enjoying the Small Things. I'm in love with those people.

But if it counts for anything, I do take pictures of projects and keep them in a folder on my desktop for the hope that I will someday write about it.

I did a new project in the guest room last night that was super easy, turned out cute and cost me exaclty NOTHING. I haven't taken pictures of that yet because I hung it on the wall right next to the 12 spots that need to be painted, so it would just look silly. But I did sand and prep them for paint! Hopefully I will do that when I get home and maybe have me super cute/unused/in progress guest room post this weekend.

But we are getting a dog tomorrow, so I'm sure I will be preoccupied. Ohh well!
